Yalan Wen is an artist based in New York City who works on computational images, new media installations, and motion graphics. Born and raised in Taiwan, she developed her curiosity about art and science by observing nature. Her work explores the subtle events that happen beyond the surface, finding the balance between simplicity and subtle philosophical interpretations. Graphic design is the foundation of her visual language, which she continued to develop in the MFA Computer Arts program at the School of Visual Arts. Her most recent interactive installations incorporate programming, experimental music composition, visual graphics, and physical computing.

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

Yalan Wen is an artist based in New York City who works on computational images, new media installations, and motion graphics. Graphic design is the foundation of her visual language, which she continued to develop in the MFA Computer Arts program at the School of Visual Arts. Her most recent interactive installations incorporate programming, experimental music composition, visual graphics, and physical computing.

1. What's the most courageous thing you've ever done?

It's to ride a bike traveling across the east coast of Taiwan in the middle of summer. I'm glad that I didn't impulsively carry my bike to the nearest train station. Instead, I carried tents and finished the trip with my group of friends.

2. How are creativity and innovation related?

Creative is to connect dots between things, it relies on people's innovation to create a new way of thinking

3. Why do companies need clarity and creativity?

When conveying an idea, we need clarity for anyone to easily understand, we also need creativity to show our difference from others and create our identity.

4. You have 30 minutes of free time. What do you do with it?

I'll go for a walk if it's a sunny afternoon, and baking at home if the weather is bad.

5. What is one risky and bold goal in life you have? Or, if you could dedicate your life to solving one problem, what would it be?

If I could dedicate my life to solving one problem, it'd be to find out the answer to a question in my head and planning out an art exhibition based on that.

7. What is the best advice that you have been given?

If every day of your life, no matter what the nature of your work or situation, you can remain playful and exuberant, it's a sign of Freedom within.

8. What is your definition of creativity?

Creativity is connecting dots between elements.
