Bio

With a background in graphic design, I've been working in the field of visual communication for over five years. I've created brands out of businesses, for a range of companies, including an aquarium, a startup incubator, a preschool, a fitness centre, an education app and a critics guild and a local bakery. I pivoted towards Ux design recently, and worked as a Ux Designer with a startup in Bangalore for a year before moving to San Francisco to pursue my Masters at CCA. I started out as an Art Director at DDB Mudra, in Bombay - the highlight of which was an opportunity that I earned to represent India at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity in the Print Category of Young Lions. I went on to intern at Wolff Olins, Dubai, and then work at Brand Union in Bangalore. I am a quick learner with a sense of humour who always plays for the team. I am known to be succinct, methodical and iterative. I find myself most relaxed while working. Outside of work, I like singing to my ukulele, learning new tools and organizing things into collections. I also have some experience in facilitating design jams.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

Skills

I speak Hindi. I can read and write the arabic script. I am also a national level swimmer.

You should pick me becuase

I’m always looking to find small truths, personal or universal, through my process. Within the design process, you’ll find me thrive during ideation, and in bringing a concept to its most aesthetic evolution through development. I'm a rare combination of analytical and wildly imaginative.

Why are you interested in this opportunity?

What are you looking to gain from an opportunity like this?

What would be your goals after completing this engagement?

10. If you could solve one problem in the world what would it be?

What's the most courageous thing you've ever done?

I'm tempted to say that hopping on a cycle rickshaw in an urban indian city, at the age of nine, to commute home from school, was brave in the context of my age and circumstance; But emotionally, quitting my first job was probably the most courageous thing I have done. I would not call myself a particularly daring person–I'm all too sensitive to consequences.

How are creativity and innovation related?

There's an indian word for creative innovation, often scrappy and unsustainable, called 'jugaad'. It encapsulates the translation of a creative thought, into an innovative artifact by pushing the boundaries of acceptability in form. In that sense, the relationship of form and function, is perhaps somewhat analogous to the relationship of creativity and innovation.

Why do companies need clarity and creativity?

Some smart guy once said–a problem can't be solved by the same mind that created it. Companies need a whole range of people with a whole range of expertise. Clarity and creativity appear particularly urgent at this moment in time, because there's a growing gap in the translation of good ideas, original thinking and authenticity.

You have 30 minutes of free time. What do you do with it?

You'll probably find me honing my illustration skills on procreate while rewatching episodes of Australian television show, please like me. Alternatively, I might be struggling to code a new idea on github pages, baking bread with my partner, or frantically organizing all the drawers in the house.

What is one risky and bold goal in life you have? Or, if you could dedicate your life to solving one problem, what would it be?

I have thought about this frequently, and the one I'm going to go with is this– I would happily dedicate my life to any efforts in rethinking consumerism. I hope to be able to design solutions that influence us to make more sustainable and inclusive choices.

Explain your creative process

I begin with reframing the brief with the primary stakeholder, until we reach an alignment in our objectives. You will then find me discussing the subject with every friend, family member and colleague, while mulling over the possibilities. I would then dive into creating a framework for my interviews–a discussion guide–and reaching out to potential participants for the primary research. In the meanwhile, I'll be uncover the existing landscape of the industry, and collating inspiration (secondary research). After synthesizing the research, I will most likely start to sketch a few ideas that have emerged, and take the best ones to the screen. I'll then ask for some structured critique from reliable colleagues and make a presentation deck to summarize the process, and propose a compelling opportunity statement. Depending on the feedback, we will go through a few iterations, until an idea is agreed upon. We then enter the refinement stage, where I will develop the designs to a higher fidelity and test it with the potential users. This process of iteration goes on, until it doesn't.

What is the best advice that you have been given?

Don't let truth get in the way of a great story.

What is your definition of creativity?

Finding the right problem to attend to.
