Bio

I am a BA (honors) graduate from the tiny island of Sri Lanka. Unsuprisingly, I have grown to love cricket, and basketball. While I spend way too much time in front of screens I still make time to be outgoing, true to my extrovert nature, spending it with friends and famly. The dynamics of my life has prepared me to handle situations and people with tact.

1. Why are you interested in wgi?

I see joining WGI as an opportunity to grow as a designer. Coming from South Asia, I want to expand my experience to a global scale and benefit from the exposure. Besides, I want to know why this is the World's Greatest Internship.

2. What are you looking to gain from an experience such as WGI?

Growing my portfolio and my network. People are as important to collect, as developing skills are, for what I can learn from amazingly talented people. I expect paths to open up that I would not get from elsewhere.

3. What would be your goals after completing WGI if you were selected?

I will work towards making it in the field as a creative chief officer capable of handling big brands and nurturing future ones. It is my goal be recognized as a commerical designer. I want to use this recognition to forge a path in giving professional talks.

4. How did you hear about wgi?

I first found it on Instagram, and that soon led me down the rabbit hole of research into finding more about WGI.

5. Share an example of a time you were most motivated and a time you were most demotivated.

My most motivated was when I was completing my final major project. It was the first project that I went 360 utilizing all platforms to solve a problem in Sri Lanka. As for the time I was most demotivated, I do not want to go into detail. It involved a girl and a broken heart. But I picked myself up, learnt from it, and moved on.

6. In your opinion, what creates a great culture at a company?

Different people and different ideas mixing in an accomodating environment

7. What brands and companies do you admire and why?

I have developed an obsession for minimalist design. Couple it with an unbeatable brand experience and I am all for it. This is something that I believe Apple, Mercedes Porsche does very well.

8. What do you do to stay sharp and improve your craft?

Working in diverse projects helps me come out of my comfort zone and i try to be consistent and progessive as work goes along.

9. What’s your favorite quote?

“When people use your brand name as a verb, that is remarkable.” Meg Whitman
