What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

What's the most courageous thing you've ever done?

I spent a month walking solo in Nepal in the middle of winter. Some of it was more stupid than courageous but it is a similar ballpark

How are creativity and innovation related?

They are mutually inclusive!!! True innovation is creative and vice versa. They both stem from lateral thinking and spontaneity

Why do companies need clarity and creativity?

The world is saturated with half baked ideas. Exceptional companies know exactly what they do, and exactly how to do it. You need clear ideas that are creative and unashamedly unique, otherwise you get lost in the swathe.

You have 30 minutes of free time. What do you do with it?

5000 STARJUMPS. Hahaha no. It would probably be something to do with my practice! Making a mould or welding a chair or painting or driving back and forward from the hardware shop. Either that or concocting up the next project…. I also like books though so that is also a possibility.

What is one risky and bold goal in life you have? Or, if you could dedicate your life to solving one problem, what would it be?

I’d love to make it to the pole of inaccessibility! (a Russian research station at the most landlocked point of Antarctica) There is a statue of Lenin there that is slowly being covered by ice – the entire research station has already completely disappeared! I don’t really like my chances of seeing it before it gets frozen over though… Lenin statue or not Antarctica is at the top of my bucket list (Either there or North Korea!)

Explain your creative process

My creative process is very process driven. I like the final result to reflect it’s medium and method. I try to avoid traditional workflows as much as I can and take a lot of inspiration from designers like Braulio Amado who are constantly trying to disrupt the design process. Perhaps most importantly I try to have fun with my work. I’m often guilty of getting too close to projects and losing sight of why I started them in the first place. What is the best advice that you have been given?

Be good, but if you can’t be good, be good at it.

What is your definition of creativity?

Pwwaahh this is a really hard question!! When I mull it over- (I think) creativity stems from uniqueness of thought and individuality. Being truly creative is letting go of external influence and trusting your instincts.

What 10 songs are on your favorite playlist right now?

Another hard question! This week I have had a lot of John T. Gast on rotation. Wygdn_bashmenttk9 & WMB are such terrific tracks! Allssooo some Oppositte Sex, Vegyn, Viktor Vaughn, Off the Meds, Frank & Tony, Mag & The Suspects, Two Lone Swordsmen etc etc. Lots of Rhythm and Sound as well! a real mix bag of stuff :)

How do you want people to remember you?

Well hopefully they think I am nice enough! I try not to spend too much time on it though – you can end up with a headache if you worry too much about what others think of you
