You should select me because

I am the BEST candidate for WGI because the three main things I really want to focus on in my life right now are:1) To travel more2) To push my design work and become the best designer I can be.3) Meet new people, seek mentores and have new experinces... and I this course is rich in all three of those things.

1. Why are you interested in wgi?

I felt instant excitement as I was reading about it. The idea of being a part of WGI is very refreshing and inspiring to me.

2. What are you looking to gain from an experience such as WGI?

To fine tune and expand on my skillset, to meet mentors, to be inspired.

3. What would be your goals after completing WGI if you were selected?

Move to another city and take my career to a new level.

4. How did you hear about wgi?

The incredibly well designed instram posts grabbed my attention, and furthermore what WGI actually was!

5. Share an example of a time you were most motivated and a time you were most demotivated.

I was most motivated in my final year of University when I interned at a studio called REB design in Perth. They do similar work to Stranger & Stranger, back then I never new a graphic designer could work on something so premium / so niche and so detailed. It was very inspiring. I'm demotivated by unrealistly quick turn around deadlines, clients that aren't wanting to push their brand or trust thier designer(s). Because at the end of the day they will benefit from great design.

6. In your opinion, what creates a great culture at a company?

A good balance of collaboration and individual ownership. Always printint things out and pinning them up on a board. Ask people to comment whether they're the CD or the cleaner.

7. What brands and companies do you admire and why?

I admire the brand Aesop, as to me it is 100% creatviely driven and so successful because of this. I see Aesop as a design brand first, and a skincare brand second which is a very exciting concept to me. I think all brands should have this focus My favourite company (studio) is called Projects of Imagination. They continue to create brands that are timeless yet have so much pop! With a heavy typographic focus (which I personally love) and always have merch for all the companies they work for which I think is a great way of extending a brand. They also make very confident design decisions, you can tell the clients fully trust them as not many clients would go for what they produce (I love this).

8. What do you do to stay sharp and improve your craft?

Step away from the computer. Look for inspiration in the street and old books and films, as opposed to pinterest.

9. What’s your favorite quote?

Speak little, do much.

10. If you could solve one problem in the world what would it be?
