Bio

In my past life as a digital advertiser, I was struggling to find meaning in my work. I was learning minute by minute the true value of data and how to use it to make informed, intentional decisions, but a huge part of who I was wasn’t being utilized on the job. While advertising helped me gain incredible insights about our users, my work was ultimately geared toward the betterment of the business first and foremost — not humans and not the planet where my true passions lie. Once I realized I could combine logic, business goals, creativity and empathy in the same setting, I dove head-first into a career in UX Design. As I pivot into a new career, I hope to work within an intimate team where I can provide value and create meaningful professional relationships. In turn, I provide a curious spirit, adaptable work-style, and a can-do, positive attitude. Using data as my rudder and curiosity as my motivation, I vow to prioritize humans by designing efficient + intuitive products that have the capacity to shape us into more thoughtful, conscious, forward-thinking people. Let’s do-good together!

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

What's the most courageous thing you've ever done?

I quit my stable, promising career in Digital Advertising in the peak of a global crisis to pursue a meaningful career in UX Design that has a great potential to benefit the future of humanity.

How are creativity and innovation related?

Simple. To be innovative, one must do something that has never been done. To come up with something that has never been done, one must get creative-- ask questions, experiment, take risks, play, etc. In my mind, innovation and creativity go hand in hand.

Why do companies need clarity and creativity?

True creatives know that the creation process can be messy if we let it. Without clarity there is no goal. Clarity acts as necessary structure to accomplish things such as meeting client needs, being timely, solving user pain-points and being strategic.

You have 30 minutes of free time. What do you do with it?

Grab a snack and get some sunshine. Google that thing I was curious about before I completely forget. I'd likely lose track of time catching up with a favorite coworker or I might get some steps in and do some stretching.

What is one risky and bold goal in life you have? Or, if you could dedicate your life to solving one problem, what would it be?

I want to be able to retire early! Some would argue it might be risky and bold for me to admit this in a job application, but truth is, I don't want to work forever. When I'm older, I want to do work that doesn't feel like work. I want to squish my toes in the mud in the middle of the day and then go forth to make my loved ones homemade pastries rather then sending emails. I'm excited to grind now so I can change the world in a different way when I'm older and wiser.

Explain your creative process

The truth is that I don't always have one because sometimes the best creations aren't part of a process or plan. I usually start by getting inspired though. I like to explore and play because I find that the best ideas come from not taking yourself too seriously while you brainstorm and mash ideas together. Then, once a vision has formed, I buckle down and get organized. I strategize and implement a practical plan to bring my creations into fruition. Then, iterate, iterate, iterate!

What is the best advice that you have been given?

The most life-changing advice I ever received was "you are required to fail." Without context, that just sounds sad. But the message was this: if you wish to become great, you have to have the courage to take risks, to try something new, to be vulnerable-- and fail while doing all of it. If you live your life avoiding failure, you will never learn or grow. Once I changed my perception of failure, my life improved tremendously.

What is your definition of creativity?

To me, creativity is the lovechild of inventiveness and play.

What 10 songs are on your favorite playlist right now?

Sara - Fleetwood Mac You Should Probably Leave - Chris Stapleton Hold On - H.E.R. Surface Tension - Genevieve Stokes HunnyBee - Unknown Mortal Orchestra Rearrange Us - Mt. Joy Revelry - Kings of Leon Leave the Door Open - Silk Sonic Skankin’ Sweet - Chronixx Rings - Pinegrove

How do you want people to remember you?

I want them to feel like I made them feel heard and seen. I want to be so authentic that inspires others to be themselves too. I'm 100% comfortable with myself yet and maybe that's a lifelong journey, but I strive for that.
