Give us your bio in under 500 words
Hi! My name is Sofia, I'm 24 and I'm from Porto, Portugal. As a creative I try to explore different mediums such as 3D, motion design, video, photography and graphic design combining my degree on Sound and Image and my master's degree on Graphic Design. I look forward to create hybrid projects that enhance the visual experience as such, aiming to explore the experimental side of the analog and digital medium.
1. What's the most courageous thing you've ever done?
I came out as bisexual.
2. How are creativity and innovation related?
Innovation allows a creative to look deeper and seeing the bigger picture. With innovation you're getting more means to achieve the desired goals as a communicator and a creator. Creativity and innovation work together producing design processes based on constantly changing states, seeking to answer an universal problem.
3. Why do companies need clarity and creativity?
Companies need simple and effective methods to communicate clearly and creativity to construct a visual and unique language. They need to trust the process and seek the same detail, digging deeper.
4. You have 30 minutes of free time. What do you do with it?
I always try to create on my free time. I love to learn new things and have different hobbies so I'll probably loose myself painting, sewing or playing bass. But, sometimes, I need to get away from thinking to see everything more clearly so I'll probably be surfing or riding my bike.
5. What is one risky and bold goal in life you have? Or, if you could dedicate your life to solving one problem, what would it be?
I see myself as a crazy dreamer but I do have a lot of dreams that envolve creative thinking like having my own design studio where I get to work on the multi-disciplinary approach as a whole, making design for music (music videos, album covers, interactive experiences) for a living, have a clothing business or just travel a lot but always with the certainty of having my own creative freedom.
6. Explain your creative process
During the creative process I try to seek for the historical and contemporary state of the subject in question. I always try to evaluate some theoretical grounds to be based on and a lot of visual references. Then, I usually try different experiences trusting the process and connecting all the dots.
7. What is the best advice that you have been given?
The best advice I've ever been given was to stop and look around, getting inspired on the daily life and be present, seek culture, see and be seen.
8. What is your definition of creativity?
My definition of creativity is kind of vain. Creativity is everything and it's everywhere, you just have to see it. You can be ripping a piece of paper and seeing a whole new shape and utility to it or you can be searching for other's work and see it transforming into a whole new thing. I think when you are creative you see it and feel it everywhere.

10. How do you want people to remember you?
I want people to remember me for my motivation and creativity. I want people to remember that I'm not in a box and I don't need to label myself to feel creative in different fields.
