Bio

I've just recently finished my year abroad in Poznań, Poland studying Graphic Design at the University of Fine Arts in Poznań and now about to start my final year of study at the University of Hertfordshire. I have interests in a number of creative fields such as fashion, art & music, all of which influence my work but I often try to take influence from more unique places just living my day to day life. My main discipline within design is branding, always focusing on creating something unique for whichever field the design will be placed, along with a strong idea to be the foundation for a project. I also inject my own personality into projects where possible through a fun, funny or sarcastic tone.

My work ethic and attitude are my standout assets. I continuously work on myself and design work. My experience in Poland taught me I can adapt to different people and cultures, I saw myself grow and learn areas I want to improve, this experience will help me achieve this.

1. What's the most courageous thing you've ever done?

Leaving a settled job to pursue my different ambitions against the will of everyone around me.

2. How are creativity and innovation related?

Without creativity there would be no thought to start the innovation process. Creativity is the idea to progress, innovation is that creativity in practise.

3. Why do companies need clarity and creativity?

Creative thinking can push boundaries with what is possible, clarity is needed to manage these ideas into a tangible realistic idea. Creatives should be allowed to think freely and not be possessive over ambitious ideas later refining ideas down to a polished usable state.

4. You have 30 minutes of free time. What do you do with it?

I often live at a fast pace, trying to cram improvements towards myself into the day is time consuming whilst managing other aspects of my life. When I do have free time I think it's important to give my brain a rest and enjoy what's around me. I may walk on my own listening to music or walking and chatting to friends. I am proud of my work ethic but to be sustainable I believe allowing your body to have a mental and physical break are crucial.

5. What is one risky and bold goal in life you have? Or, if you could dedicate your life to solving one problem, what would it be?

Even though my goal is to be a graphic designer, I want to one day own a sustainable fashion brand on top of this. I aim for the brand to produce innovative fabrics and manufacturing processes this is due to myself wanting to have a different creative expression from graphic design and allowing self confidence through clothes to others, but with conflicting thoughts over the environmental impacts of the fashion industry and the reality of the world not needing any more clothes I want to make it my job to produce beautifully designed and made cloths, alongside allowing someone a opportunity to express themselves in a environmentally cautious way through natural by-products.

6. Explain your creative process

My creative process is continuous forever being inspired from unique objects or experiences. Ideas become generated from visual cues in ideas alongside an understanding of cultural and social situations around the world. Although when moving into a new project these continuous processes often get an input at some part of the project, but my process will begin with developing a strong rounded understanding of the subject matter first, finding out “what is the problem?”, “where is the problem?” and “is there a problem?” My research is through intentionally differing sources, some from experts within their field in academic journals to more relaxed online articles and blogs; this later gives me an understanding of the audience demographic and how to connect within the branding process. I then create initial visuals often referring back through the constant visual inspiration gathered throughout my day to day life, then combining with more targeted visual research surrounding the branding subject. Ultimately I leave visual research as late as possible as I continuously hunt for completely unrelated inspiration so when tackling a project I allow myself to think as laterally and solely as possible before then researching into more relevant sources such as competitors etc. In my view designing an identity should be exactly that, an identity differing to that of any others, the hard part is creating a unique creative brand but making the audience understand the relation between the brand and industry but if done correctly it allows a brand to differ from the crowd truly being an identity.

7. What is the best advice that you have been given?

Happiness is the most important thing in life. Everyone of course has differing views on what causes happiness but I believe helping others and achieving personal goals is key. I also will make decisions on what in turn can make me happy short term or long term never for the benefits we can be taught will make us happy such as money, or acknowledgment from others.

8. What is your definition of creativity?

Creativity is the ability to think laterally differently to others, this can be a certain level of natural ability or understanding of yourself and the process that works for you. Creativity is discovering answers for questions answered by so many prior and your individual answer is different to them all.

9. What 10 songs are on your favorite playlist right now?

Slowthai - NHS Life is beautiful - Lil Peep Metallic Taste - Show me the Body Slowthai - Feel away Guru - Life saver Coldplay - Yellow Hak Baker - Babylon Joey Purp - Elastic Unaloon - Dear God $not - Gosha

10. How do you want people to remember you?

Ultimately a nice approachable person, someone who is fun, friendly, chatty and happy with who he is. I sometime dress a bit differently to others, its easy to imagine strangers disagreeing with this but I like to think seeing someone dress out there can be a push for someone else to wear something they like but have been too intimidated to wear before.
