I am a NYC based multidisciplinary designer from Izmir, Turkey. I am currently pursuing my masters degree in Communication Design at Parsons School of Design focusing on Digital Product Design.
I like traveling, the beach, long video calls, heavy music, and all things neon. I enjoy learning new things, photography, and resolving design problems with informed experimental solutions.
I graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2019 with emphasis on Visual Communication Design and spent the past summer participating in Wix Playground Academy, an exclusive web design program in NYC. I also volunteer as a design consultant for Arts of Life, a non-profit organization for artists with developmental disabilities in Chicago, and independently create designs for various clients.
1. What's the most courageous thing you've ever done?
Moving to the United States from Turkey by myself when I was 19 to pursue a better education.
2. How are creativity and innovation related?
Creativity and innovation go hand in hand because a big part of what makes something creative is how fresh and contemporary it is. The most creative and striking ideas are the ones that take concepts from now and the past, and transform them in a way that is relevant to the future.
3. Why do companies need clarity and creativity?
Companies need creativity to produce relevant and exciting ideas, and solve problems that they come across. They also need clarity to get their ideas and message across, because what's the most relevant and successful is what's heard and understood by people.
4. You have 30 minutes of free time. What do you do with it?
Read a book, go on Youtube to watch something interesting, call a friend/family member or take a nap.
5. What is one risky and bold goal in life you have? Or, if you could dedicate your life to solving one problem, what would it be?
To be self sufficient and knowledgeable, and be able to use my experience to help others, (whether that would be teaching, or starting a company and creating products for clients that I believe in) while never stopping to be curious and learn.
6. Explain your creative process
I start with spending time on understanding the project and the client. I do research about the topic, and then look for inspiration (not just other designs, but anything that could inspire me or inform the concept). I take a lot of notes, sketch, and brainstorm various ideas. With some projects such as UX design, the research part of it is more detailed than the others. Then I start visual experimentations and design, trying out ideas based on the concepts that I have. I try to not be a perfectionist, and come up with relevant possible design directions that I can work on and improve further. I make decisions, and focus on what works the best further, make variations, and finalize the design language. Along the way, I ask for feedback from other designers and people.
7. What is the best advice that you have been given?
Every failure is a successful learning moment.
8. What is your definition of creativity?
Expressing ideas and solving problems in unusual but coherent ways.
9. What 10 songs are on your favorite playlist right now?
100 Years (Florence + The Machine)
Cry (Ashnikko feat. Grimes)
1x1 (Bring Me The Horizon feat. Nova Twins)
Die Young (Black Sabbath)
Phobia (Nothing But Thieves)
Грустная Сука (IC3PEAK)
Bullet with Butterfly Wings (Mø)
10. How do you want people to remember you?
Friendly, positive, motivated, someone who has good energy.

Which country issued your passport?
